O nome CtrlCultura é uma referência ao próprio termo, contracultura. A utilização do "Ctrl", que na linguagem digital é o botão de "controle" ou "comando" (Ctrl c + Ctrl v), é uma referência a cibercultura.
(((CtrlCultura))) é uma manifestAção coletiva idealizada por pessoas que estão conectadas através de idéias em comum, engajadas num processo de reciclagem global através das Artes, da música, do audio/visual, do artivismo, ativismo e ciberativismo. Todos nós queremos nos maifest.Arte, expressar nossas idéias, pensamentos, sentimentos, de forma pacífica e consciente. Fazemos parte da Era Digital, por isso utilizamos a tecnologia como ferramenta, para produzir Arte. É através da rede que conseguimos prolifer.Arte nossas idéias, onde todos comunicam-se virtual.mente, formando uma teia infinita de conexões, um verdadeiro universo virtual. Compartilhamos os ideais de Contraculura, Cibercultura, Copyleft, Ciberativismo, Artelivre, Muzikdigital, Freeware, Audio/Visual, etc.

No dia 11 de setembro de 2008 foi realizado em Curitiba - PR a primeira manifestAção de CtrlCultura, a escolha da data foi propositalmente a mesma em que ocorreram os ataques terroristas aos Estados Unidos, para gerar questionamentos e inquietAção em relação a situação da nossa sociedade. O encontro uniu pessoas e coletivos para refletirem sobre a situação atual do planeta, e expressarem suas idéias através do art.vismo, de forma pacífica e consciente. Houve uma grande explosão de idéias e manifestAções que ecoaram por toda a cidade.
A mobilizAção teve início ás 8:48 (horário em que a primeira torre foi atingida) com uma performance artística na Boca Maldita (centro da cidade), seguida por uma ação de reciclArte, com pinturas e grafite na pista do Gaúcho, foi feita uma distribuição de alimentos agroecolOgicos, junta.mente com informAtivos sobre alimentação consciente (vegetarianismo), em frente ao McDonalds da XV, músicos se reuniram para levar seu som para transformar o espaço.tempo dentro de um ônibus, juntamente com os alunos do departamento de artes da ufpr foi reciclado o espaço do Centr Acadêmico com pinturas, Grafites, Arte.livre regado com muita musica e para finalizar uma festa de confraterniAção no Kroeg (galeria baR) ondE Djs e produtores mostraram seu trabalho e um art.vista fez uma vidEo performance livE!

Art.vism: Activist manifestation linked to Art. The art genuine and free of intention is a activist manifestation, because the simple fact of operating independent of the modus operandi of a society grounded in consumption and material pleasures.

On September 11, 2008 was happened in Curitiba - Brazil the first manifestation of CtrlCultura. The choice of date was purposely the same that occurred in the terrorist attacks on the United States, to generate questions and concern about the situation of our society. The meeting put toghether people and collectives to reflect on the current situation of the planet, and express their ideas through art.vism, peacefully and consciously. There was a big explosion of ideas and events that echoed throughout the city.
The mobilization began at 8:48 (time the first tower was hit) with an artistic performance in Boca Maldita (downtown), followed by an action of Reciclarte, with paintings and graphite on Gaucho, skatepark. Then was made a agroecological food distribution with a funzine news about conscious eating (vegetarianism), in front of a McDonalds store. Musicians gathered to take their sound to transform the time.space inside a bus, along with the students of arts department from State University. It was recycled the Academic Center space with paintings, graphite, Free Art irrigated showered with great music, and to finalize a party in to Kroeg (gallery bar) where DJs and music producers showed their work and an artist made a video performance live!
